Korey Dodge
Health and Well Being and Cultural Awareness Facilitator
Korey, a criminology student at SUNY Cortland New York, has an Associates degree in Criminal Justice from Onondaga Community College (OCC). Korey is a member of the Criminology Club here at SUNY Cortland, and aids with promoting events and volunteer opportunities with Save the Kids (STK). Korey hopes to engage with youth by providing them life and professional skills. Korey’s goal is to work with youth inside and outside of incarcerated locations aiding them in strategies of avoiding getting caught in the criminal justice system, by being an active community-based probation officer that promotes nonviolent and peaceful ethics and behavior after he graduates college.

Colette Montgomery
Committee Member, Save the Kids’ Hip-Hop Studies
Montgomery, originally from Washington, DC was raised in Harlem, NY where she was and still is a very active member of her community. Upon high school graduation, Colette enrolled in Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY where she is majoring in criminology. Outside of the classroom, Colette volunteers at various organizations including Hillbrook and the Boys and girls club while also being an active member of her schools step team and the tour guides. Colette’s goals in life are to help youth stay on track and to steer those that went astray back on the right path.

Ashley M. Mosgrove
Poetry Behind the Walls Special Issue Editor and Intern
Mosgrove recently graduated from SUNY Cortland with a BA in psychology. Currently she is conducting research in the area of youth studies, gender and sexuality studies, disability studies and critical animal studies. She in the summers work with youth with disabilities and throughout the year volunteers at Hillbrook Youth Detention Center, a secure facility for youth between the ages of 10 to 16. She currently interns for Save the Kids (STK) a youth re-entry organization in Syracuse, New York an intern with the Anarchist Studies Initiative a project of the Center for Gender and Intercultural Studies (CGIS) at SUNY Cortland.  Mosgrove also is a guest editor of the Poetry Behind the Walls, a publication of short-stories and poetry by incarcerated youth. In her free time she likes to hangout with nonhuman animals, staying outdoors, and listening to music.

Ezra Scott Jr.
Special Events Coordinator and Intern
Ezra will graduate from SUNY Cortland with a BA in Sociology May 2010. Ezra is a substitute for Linda’s Lullaby Daycare and an intern at Walden’s Place Assisted Living Community, the new choice for seniors that offers attractive apartments with activities, personal care, transportation, and amenities within a beautiful community. Also Ezra is currently an intern at Hillbrook Youth Detention Center, a secure facility for youth between the ages of 10 to 16, bringing once a month college groups to speak and work with the residents. Ezra is a member of M.O.V.E (Men of Value and Excellence) and the Criminology Club at SUNY Cortland.  He played for two years and was captain of Niagara County Community College Mens Basketball Team and he played one year for SUNY Cortland’s Men’s Basketball team. In his free time he enjoy’s hanging with friends, working-out, playing sports, and watching movies.

Nicole Caruso
Cultural Awareness and Computer Coordinator and Intern
Nicole Caruso is currently a student and psychology major at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. Caruso grew up on the north side of Syracuse and work for a family owned and operated Italian restaurant that has been in business since 1961. She has recently graduated from Onondaga Community College were she received an Associates degree in Criminal Justice. Caruso enjoys volunteering her free time with programs that help youth-at-risk. Her long-term career objective is to help children establish a healthy nonviolent lifestyle by providing unconditional respect, support, being a positive role-model, and assisting in obtainable personal goals. Her hobbies are dancing, reading, singing, and painting.
